If you don't know who
Andy Grammer is, you are missing out...!!!
His most popular songs are...
"
Keep Your Head Up":
and "
Fine By Me":
In my opinion, not many artists make albums where EVERY SINGLE SONG is good, but he is one of those artists (in my opinion) who did it. Go pick up his album it's self-named.
SO, in November I signed up for his Tour Crew (street team basically) on his website, and for that I posted a ton of posters, handed out flyers, posted on twitter however many times they said to to promote the concert, made a FB event, Sold merch at the concert, etc. Some of the perks of that were: meeting Andy and a free ticket to his concert! Also, if the tour crew in my city sold out the show, we got a free tour T-shirt, signed CD and signed poster! I assumed they would be pre-signed, which is
fine by me (ha ha ha... sorry) but he did it right in front of us, and we (4 others plus me) are going to be featured in one of his upcoming YouTube webisodes!!!! I'm so excited lol. We also sold more merch than they've ever sold before and he said it was one of his favorite cities and venues because we LOVE music here in
Minneapolis!!!!
On Monday January 30th, I got there early to set up merch and I met Andy for the first time!!!! I was kind of disappointed because I just got to take a picture with him in front of a Mentos poster thing.. and talked for like 10 or 15 seconds. BUT ...we sold merch before and during the two openers (Rachel Platten and Breanne Düren from Owl City). When we got to go to the floor for Andy's set (at The Varsity Theater--about 700-800 people) it was an AMAZING show--I put up a bunch of videos on
http://www.youtube.com/laub0068 if anyone's interested. Then during "Slow" he jumped down and walked through the crowd RIGHT NEXT TO ME!! I of course was freaking out even though I already met him!! haha. Then after we sold merch again, and when we were cleaning up, his tour manager who was like helping with merch brought Andy out again and the band and we talked to them and the two openers for like 15 minutes and took pictures/got the sell-out stuff and just hung out. They are all so nice (Except Rachel Platten was kind of rude after the crowd left....) and We recommended a pizza place and he later tweeted me saying they did go there and loved it!!
and
Andy is so so nice even though he smiles kinda weird in all the pictures. lol.
Here are some of my pics!! Sorry I am weird-looking.
On the small poster/flyer in the top right corner, the purple autograph is
Rachel Platten, and the red autograph is
Breanne Düren (from Owl City).
Breanne is SO nice and funny - I talked to her for like 5 minutes but was stupid to not get a picture with either Rachel or Breanne--I didn't know I would like their music more a few days after.
