Celebrity authentics (Pretty Cool info on A-list Stars!!)

Unread post by RYAN J. »

Hey all!

Over at www.rebelscum.com were having a topic on the company Celebrity authentics
www.celebrityauthentics.com & thought you might enjoy this bit of news that was posted from an email newsletter from Autograph Collector Magazine:

"A-Listers Sign to Fight Forgers

John Travolta...Christian Bale...Kate Bosworth...Tobey Maguire...Michael Keaton.

In a coup that has autograph dealers shaking their heads in amazement, Celebrity Authentics has signed these top stars and at least seven more to exclusive autograph agreements. We here at Autograph were equally surprised. Exclusive signing contracts are common in sports, but virtually unknown in A-List Hollywood. So why did they do it? According to Celebrity Authentics' president, Joe Lamothe, they're fed-up with their fans getting stuck with forgeries and they want to protect their names.

Eric Bana, Brandon Routh, Kevin Spacey, Robert Downey Jr., Hugh Jackman, Gerard Butler and Sigourney Weaver finish up the list of 12 stars under contract. And the Pennsylvania-based company expects to add more throughout the year.

Several signings are underway, and a schedule of 2009 signings and pre-sale dates is on their Web site. Each item will be affixed with a Celebrity Authentics serially-numbered hologram and come with a COA with an image of the star signing. Besides signed photos and posters, there will be statues, props, art prints and other exclusive items available.

Lamothe says that the memorabilia's limited edition status and assured authenticity will enhance long-term collectability and investment value.

We're happy to finally be able to get autographs we can read."

Makes you wonder if the ones we get TTM are really Authentic after all! :shock: Pretty interesting if you ask me!

Hi Ryan! ;-)

Interesting article, thanks for posting. {thumb2} It's great to know that they really do mind forgeries, because it can really ruin autographs. {down}

On the contrary, these celebrities actually dislike forgeries so I doubt they would send sec's! None of them even replies authentically TTM, with the only exceptions of Kate Bosworth and Christian Bale. {up} Sure, John Travolta "sends" secretarials via his address, but at least he does sign authentically via venue (if you're lucky enough to catch him!). :) And besides, there is many more celebrities (yes, even so-called A-listers) who sign authentically TTM/via venue than the handful who sends regularly secretarials (by regularly, I mean those who you cannot get an authentic from no matter what), so nothing to worry about!

Thanks!
