Book Signings?

Hi all!

How about a bit dedicated to Celebrity Book signings?

I enjoy going to these when they are near me!

*You state who the celebrity is there
*Where abouts the signing is (shop etc)
*Whether it is in the UK (England) or America?

Just an Idea, i know o would benifit from it!

Do you also mean like celebrity signings in general? I think that could benefit as there as people from all over the world that visit this site, so it could work!

Hi guys

I can see where you are coming from, but I can't see how it would work realistically

What I mean is that I am not sure people would travel very far for a signing, so a section like that would only benefit people living very close, and for a celeb they liked!

For example if I said that Helen Fielding was signing in T.W Bookshop in Manchester, then realistically only those people who knew who she was would be interested, and then, only those within a 10-20 mile radius of Manchester?

I just feel that it might only serve a minute sector of the membership and information would be very country specific, and the philosophy of Fanmail.biz is to be a global reference source.

Just my humble opinion!!!

I completely understand where you're coming from, Ian!! And I actually agree! I was just curious as to what they meant by book signing and whether it was only that! I mean we have people from all around the world visiting this site so I'm not sure how efficient it would be like you said!

Personally, I think it would be a great idea. A couple days ago the cast of Degrassi came to a mall extremely close to my house, and I didn't even know it.

Ok Ok, so lets maybe then expand it to celebrity signings? be it book signings, or in-store signings for various things!

At least it gives people an idea of where some celebs will be, and then its up to them if they want to travel to it if they are far away, or go to it if they are local!

Uhh, don't think I've ever heard the word "whax" before...

I definitely think this is a good idea, but I don't know if it would really work, just like Ian said.

This is a great idea for a Forum. Just because a book signing is happening, doesnt mean you have to be there to get the autograph. I have ordered a few book signed from across the country. Only a week or two ago, Rik Mayal was signing in Newcastle WH SMiths. I wasn't going to travel to Neewcastle but i ordered it and have a signed copy here now!!

I think its a good idea! especially if it includes other celeb signings such as

music groups in for exapmle HMV

Or maybe a sticky could be added in some where for links to some where that has the information!
