Just To Clarify

Unread post by glucklich »

So, I put up a thread in the Sale/Exchange forum stating that, due to medical reasons and lack of insurance, I'm selling my entire collection to save money for the doctor bills. That is true, but I didn't want to publicize to the entire forum what exactly is wrong that would make me have to sell my collection.

I recently went in to have a lump examined in my breast and they found it to be cancerous. So I have to go in and have a full mastectomy in a couple weeks, and from there I'll be in chemo. I just started my first year of college, and my family doesn't have health insurance, or the funds to pay for all these medical expenses, so I'm doing everything I can to help save to help pay for the doctor bills. I've sold a lot lately, most of my guitars, my drums, my brother and I are sharing a car and I sold mine, but it's not really enough. I know I can't make much this way, but we're just trying to save it all. So, it's come down to me selling my collection.

I still hope I can be a part of this site, and remain a Moderator, I feel that, after all is said and done and this is over with and my bills are paid, I'll start collecting again, but for now I would like to remain a Moderator and help other collectors. Plus it will give me something to do when I can't go out anymore.

If you want to stay on as a mod and help then by all means please do. I am so sorry you have to go through something like this. If you ever need to talk I had a few family members go through the same thing. Keep your head up high and never give up.

Thank you so much. That really does mean a lot to me :)
I'm really grateful that I have the great support system that I do around me. And I've had a few family members of my own go through the same thing, so they've been really supportive of me. I just need to keep positive.

Best of luck with everything! I hope everything goes smoothy with the mastectomy and chemo! {up} We'd love to have you stay on most definitely, and I'm very sorry you have to go through something like this. I can't imagine how difficult it must be. Just stay strong, and I truly wish you all the best in the coming months. :)

OMG. Im really sorry to hear that you have to be going through this. I personally don't know anyone who has gone through this, but Biology being a subject of interest, I understand the difficulty of you going through this. I wish you all the best and I pray that everything becomes alright at the end of it all.

You are always welcome to stay as a Moderator on this forum. You have helped alot of people as it is and you are always welcome by us all.

I wish I could help you to save up for this. However, I do have a small suggestion, if its of any use. Autographs like the Don La Fontaine you can auction off at local auction houses and you might get a good value for it. Though it maybe difficult than said.

Don't give up hope. Stay strong. Cat fight the damn problem to the ground {up}

If you need anything, you can always contact us mods.

Oh man, thank you everyone for your kind words of encouragement :) It really means a lot to me. It was especially nice to have this to come home to to read after my doctors appointment today where we discussed the mastectomy and possible later reconstruction. So after all that negativity it was nice to have all this positivity :) You guys are great.

Thank you so much afem! That suggestion about an auction house is a really good idea. I'll probably do that actually. True it is a bit out of the way, but it's worth a shot.

Thank you! :) I'm hoping everything will go alright. It sounds like it should, but it still is an unnerving thought. The thing I'm most scared about is the chemo....
