Matthew Fox
Sent letter, SASE, and photo to the London production of "In A Forest, Dark and Deep" on February 26th.
Today, received in my SASE, my photo returned unsigned and a 5x7 Lost pre-print.
EXTREMELY disappointing. I could maybe understand him not responding to fanmail through the Lost address, since he must have received hundreds and thousands of letters, but through a London production where he probably didn't even receive a quarter of the fanmail he got on Lost... its super disappointing. They removed my English stamps and replaced them with US ones, which is where it was sent from. So obviously he's having all his mail re-directed to some US fanmail address (he's only finishing up his London play on June 4th...) There was no return address on the envelope, so I'm not sure exactly what address it came from. Honestly, I would have preferred simply having my letter RTSed so I could have re-used the SASE. UK stamps are pretty dang expensive.
As a Matthew Fox fan for many years since his Party of Five days, this is a really disappointing one for me. I don't understand why he's so incredibly against scribbling his name for loyal fans that have supported him, especially the last 6 years on Lost. I really thought he would make an effort for the few people trying him via venue. Shame.

Re: Matthew Fox
I thought about sending to him there, but now I'm glad I didn't. Sorry for the Failure/PrePrint. I'm as baffled as you are that he wont sign vv.

Re: Matthew Fox
I got the same earlier this week .
I , like you , would have preferred to get a RTS rather than sending my stuff from over here in the UK , over to the States , then back again with a PP smaller version of the same photo I had sent him
The same happened to me with Orlando Bloom - can anybody remember which Theatre he was in last time ( just thinking it might be the Theatre - probably not though as I'm sure I got Judi Dench from this one on her last run ) ?

Re: Matthew Fox
hmm wrote to the theatre as well in March so now I know what to expect.
I understand why you are disappointed and I would be the same if I receive something back. I agree with what you said. Sad..

Re: Matthew Fox
Don't remember which production but I vaguely remember this about Orlando.. very unfortunate. I will remember this when I have the option of supporting Matthew Fox in his future projects. I know its not necessarily nice to hold a vendetta against someone who doesn't respond to you, but in this case.. I feel like it's a slap in the face of fans. They think we're dumb enough to not know it's a PP? And then they have the nerve to actually USE our SASE to send us a fake autograph?? Man... who knew this guy had such a huge ego.tansternant wrote:

I also sent to Keira Knightley in February... not holding my breath for that either.

Re: Matthew Fox
i got the exact same too!!! cant understand why they did that!! pictures not returned, SAE came from the USA, uk stamps removed and US stamps added, pre-print photo sent! Really disappointing - i thought that he was usually a good signer?? the theatre obviously passed on post - perhaps his staff dont???? had high hopes of this one, so am sorry that others got the disappointing reply too
